Interchange

This release marks the first concerto recording by the GRAMMY®-winning LAGQ, and traces an arc from their instrument's first concerto to its newest one: Joaquín Rodrigo's Concierto Andaluz and Sergio Assad's Interchange. 

LAGQ's recording of Rodrigo's Concierto Andaluz is a tribute to their mentors, Los Romeros, for whom the piece was written in 1965. One of the first concertos written expressly for guitar quartet, this quintessentially Spanish work has long been in LAGQ's repertoire.

Also featured on this project is the world-premiere recording of a major new work, Sergio Assad's Interchange for Guitar Quartet and Orchestra. Sergio Assad is a member of the celebrated Assad Brothers duo, and a long-time friend of LAGQ. He has written and arranged for celebrated artists Yo-Yo Ma and Nadja Solerno Sonnenberg, and won a Latin GRAMMY® in 2008 for Best Classical Composition. 

Spin

The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, the Grammy-winning ensemble that has spent the past quarter century extracting brilliant music from a rich and organic stew of stylistic and cultural perspectives, takes an eclectic ride with the release of LAGQ Spin. The album marks the third Telarc recording for guitarists John Dearman, Bill Kanengiser, Scott Tennant and Andrew York, the innovative foursome collectively known as LAGQ.

LAGQ returns to their roots, paying tribute to a range of artists representing styles as diverse as jazz, bluegrass, rock and flamenco. Guitar Heroes is a collective thank-you to those artists who inspired them to pick up the guitar. 

LAGQ Latin

Air and Ground finds the classical quartet moving further into world music. L.A.G.Q.

With the release of their Sony Classical debut L.A.G.Q., the quartet launches a new phase in its development, adding world music to an all-embracing repertoire which already includes classical, jazz, pop, folk, and rock music. 

For Thy Pleasure

An all-baroque program, arranged and performed by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Highlights include Bach's Brandenburn Concerto No. 6, music from Handel, Monteverdi, Purcell, and a very unusual version of Pachelbel's Canon in D. A pleasure for all music lovers.

Labyrinth

The World's premier guitar quartet, playing music from Zeppelin to Sousa, Basie to Copland. Two years in the making, Labyrinth is the first true "crossover" departure for the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ).

The music ranges from folk classics to contemporary classical style, and uses a variety of popular idioms. The album takes its name from Ian Krouse's Labyrinth on a Theme of Led Zeppelin, whose opening theme is a blistering transcription of the (AOR) classic Friends. We think it is safe to say that there is something for everyone on this disc!
